Paprika is also a member of the nightshade family, along with the tomato. Did you know that botanically speaking, peppers are berries and not pods as most people think? The fruit is differentiated by colour, size and pungency. The variety of colours of the peppers indicates the respective degree of ripeness. Green peppers are still unripe, yellow to orange peppers are semi-ripe and red peppers have reached full ripeness.

Our dried peppers are ripe, red and sweet peppers. They are soft and taste unchanged like peppers thanks to the gentle drying process.

How healthy are dried peppers?

The sweet pepper has relatively few carbohydrates and calories. They also contain large amounts of potassium, magnesium, zinc and calcium.  Red peppers have the highest vitamin content. They have a particularly high vitamin A and vitamin C content. These support the body’s own defence mechanisms and help prevent cardiovascular diseases.

What do you do with dried peppers?

Peppers are also an all-purpose vegetable in the kitchen. Our dried peppers are delicious as a snack or optionally in a variety of dishes such as tomato sauce, rice with peppers and much more. They can also be processed for a dip or pickled in oil with various herbs.

Advantages of our dried vegetables

Our dried peppers are air-dried and exclusively from controlled organic cultivation. The drying process gives the fruits a much longer shelf life. Often, the addition of sulphur to dried fruits prevents them from becoming visually unsightly, thus preserving the bright colour of their flesh. Sulphurised fruits can cause intolerances or allergic reactions in sensitive people. However, our peppers are completely unsulphurised and without any additives, which is why the colour of the flesh may change slightly. This is absolutely not a sign of poor quality, but merely a sign that it is a 100% natural fruit.
