Why date sugar? And is date sugar healthy?
It takes more than eight hours to produce fine, refined sugar from a sugar beet. During processing, neither the original nutrients nor vitamins or minerals are retained. Thus, all the calories that are absorbed through the consumption of sugar are, so to speak, “empty”.
This is not the case with our organic date sugar, as there are plenty of minerals such as calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, sodium and phosphorus in date sugar. In addition, date sugar also contains several vitamins such as vitamin C, D, B3, B5 as well as beta carotene and folic acid.
How is date sugar made?
In the production of date sugar, the pitted and dried dates are heated with steam. The dates then have to be completely dried so that they can be processed into a fine sugar mass. And the healthy date sugar is ready!
